In Cape Town, high school students in Kraaifontein are demanding that their peers, whose parents are foreign nationals, be expelled from their schools. This alarming trend has rapidly spread to numerous schools across Cape Town, culminating in violence that injured a foreign national student.

This is not a spontaneous act of rebellion or youthful unrest. Someone is actively inciting these students to turn against their foreign classmates. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that many of these students see their own parents attacking foreign nationals in marketplaces, on the streets, and in employment areas. The cycle of violence is fueled by misinformation, hatred, and deliberate provocation.

The reality on the ground is grim. Many foreign nationals in Cape Town, particularly Zimbabweans, have been victims of brutal attacks, some resulting in death, by xenophobic mobs. These acts of violence are not isolated incidents but part of a disturbing pattern of lawlessness and hatred that threaten the fabric of our society.

A trusted source in Cape Town shared a chilling account: South Africans are going door to door, attacking foreign nationals, damaging their cars, and destroying their property. The rule of law, which should protect all residents equally, appears to be breaking down. If left unchecked, this spiraling violence could escalate into a full-blown genocide against foreign nationals in South Africa.

The authorities seem unable or unwilling to contain this surge of violence. The police are not doing enough to protect foreign nationals from mobs, thugs, and lawless groups. This failure to act endangers not only the lives and property of foreign nationals but also the moral integrity of our nation.

The time has come for urgent intervention. We must identify and confront those inciting hatred and violence. Our government and law enforcement agencies must restore order, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the safety of all residents—South African citizens and foreigners alike.

The future of South Africa depends on our collective response to this crisis. We cannot allow xenophobia, violence, and hate to define our nation. We must stand united against these destructive forces before it is too late.
